Hi,
I've reserved an open table for community bikeshops and local stewardshop groups at Ciclovia starting at 9am on Sunday.
No less than 3 shops were interested but were unable to muster enough volunteers to staff the table for the mandatory 9 hour day.
This gives us some leeway.
Nothing intensive required - lots of "regular" shops will be there doing repairs anyway - just gives a chance to share info, promote, enlist volunteers and, in general, support the event.
Dalila (on behalf of WC3/Bike Cage) has offered to close out the day from 3p.m.
Lizanne at the bike garage was planning to make an appearance too.
Ian S. said he would do what he can.
When I stopped by the Dump last week there were some people willing (names sorry?), but mentioned that it would have to wait until last minute due to scheduling, etc . . .
Spoke to Dan about bringing his fantastic contraption out - but that was last month and havebn't had the chance to confirm . . . .
Anyway, the option to just show up is now there. If anyone has specific times, feel free to let this group know or just show up - a 10 minute "cameo appearance" is just fine. : )
(I will swing by periodically when I can, but am in the same boat, commitment wise).
If anyone has anything to put on the table (flyers, sign-up sheets, etc.. ) you could bring it down on Sunday, or drop them off with myself or Andy at the Bike Cage table at the Sherbrooke Street Festival on Saturday, and I can put it out in the morning. Dalila's bringing some info and maybe I'll bring the big 3D One Green City map too, just to give people something to look at and fill it out a bit.
Enjoy the day....
Cheers,
Anders
