Hi,
We need to be very coordinated to pull off the container load on the playa mostly because it has fallen to a few people over the last year to make sure everything got loaded and we are not making heroes out of anyone this year.  Second, it will be much harder to pack them on the playa than in Boston because of how tight the pack was.

We all need to make this work.

First, if you split a portion of your share to someone make sure they get this email. Forward it to everyone you split your share with.

Review this google doc in the link below and make sure your name appears there. Then enter the day and time (best estimate) you plan on leaving the playa and the day/times you will be at container to load things.  NOTE:  Your time at the container has to be at least 3 hours before you leave the playa.  You might not have to stay that long but you should plan on it as we need help loading the containers.

Do the above now, tell the people you split shares with to do it now.  If your name is not on the list you may find we pack your items on the 'I just dumped my shit here, or threw it on the container, or showed up 1/2 hour before I had to leave the playa' truck that takes stuff to the dump.

You should plan to bring a portion of your stuff to the container to load the day(s) before you leave as packing over two or more days will be smoother than trying to do it all at once.

Also, I will get some pedal wrenches and tie-wraps, etc and leave them at the container so you can take your bike apart and assure it will re-pack nicely.

More later but this is an important first step in understanding when the bulk of load might happen.

In addition to having a pedal wrench, people with bikes should bring along the tools that they used to assemble the bike as well - I have a small bike multi-tool with an Alan key and crescent wrench to take the seat, handlebars, and front forks down, so this should be a consideration of others to keep their tools handy until their bikes are packed up, and to share with other bike break downs at the container.

Camp Tissue and a Plan (7:30&Detroit) will have a full set of bike
tools including a pedal wrench, patch kits, headset wrenches, chain
tool, and bottom bracket tools. This stuff is all on the truck but you
might not catch us while we're unloading. If anyone needs help getting
their bike back together on the playa come to Camp Tissue and a Plan
and ask for Magneato any time Saturday or later.

I added a column in the spread sheet for people to put where they are camped at to give them some food for thought on planning their transition to the Containers from where they are at if not in The Hive (Boston Village).

As I posted previously, there was a fair degree of night time navigation to find the trucks when I arrived and also on Monday night when I crossed the Esplanade to bring my last load in.

One thing to remember is that there will be no street signs after Saturday night, so it would be useful to match the background mountains above the containers or take a compass reading if you are brining one so that you will at least know which direction to head in, as not everyone with stuff on the container will have the proximity of the The Hive when it comes to bringing it on home.
