Welcome to the Burning Nerds 2024 gathering at Center Camp's Future Friday

All nerds and friends of nerds in Black Rock City are invited to partake in geeky experiments at Center Camp's Future Friday. Expect poster sessions and mind-expanding discussions, all accompanied by coffee.
What is Future Friday? Nerds 2024 gathering is part of Future Friday, a participatory imagination exercise that takes over Center Camp, inviting Burners to envision what the future could look like and discuss how the movement might shape it´s surroundings in the years to come. Over four hours, diverse programming under Center Camp's canopy will focus on engaging with futuristic ideas through participatory discussions, immersive experiences, storytelling, and from Nerds´s, scientific content. The event will emphasize Burner culture's essence of participation, dialogue, and community contributions.
For Burning Nerds? The aim is to facilitate a real nerdy corner where you can dive deeper discussions into ideas, exchange knowledge, and spark new collaborations, with a supply of coffee. Posters, also possibly yours, will be featured and on-site data collections may also take place.
When? The event takes place in Center Camp, Friday from noon to 4pm featuring posters, discussions and data collections with slightly facilitated discussions around the dining table 2-4pm.
Participation? Few volunteers are needed for the coffee team. In addition to Stuart pouring the coffee, more help is welcomed.
You are also invited to feature an academic-style poster, either alone or with a small 2-3 person team. Content can include recently published (2019-2024) studies, new plans, or ongoing or future research related to Burning Man. Posters should facilitate engaging discussions and collaborative explorations for small groups. We will bring some insights from our participatory strategy research project (2024-2026) at Aalto University in collaboration with Oxford University. More about that https://openstrategy.fi/
