Dear Burning Nerds,

You are invited to test and help shape a new AI platform, a somewhat nerdy space, designed for academic inquiry, narrative reflection, and participatory research connected to Burning Man culture and community, as well as a few smaller communities across Europe.

What's in it?

Once logged in https://burning-stories.gopf.com , you’ll find two interactive 3D maps (screenshot below). The first includes all information Black Rock City art installations and the second contains:

  •  A searchable repository of academic abstracts and open-access publications on Burning Man (280 entries)

  • A curated archive of stories collected at BRC, several regional burns, and other transformative festivals (e.g., Boom, Ozora, Mo:dem) around 400 entries

  • A Burning Man Live podcast archive of 80 entries

  • A story-sharing interface is planned and will be added soon.

What can you do with it?

  • Search and browse individual research, story, podcast and art piece data points.

  • Discover connections between data points.

  • Chat with the datasets.

  • Run reports.

  • The databases are also intended to be fully downloadable for anyone interested, but this feature is not yet active.

To whom is this? Researchers, artists, community members reflecting on personal and collective journeys. The primary aims, in addition to scholarly activities, are to preserve and evolve the culture in a new dimension, and offer a knowledge repository for the community.

We’re looking for testers to:

  • Explore the archives in a 3D data landscape.

  • Share feedback on whether and how it could be useful.

  • Provide input on usability and cultural alignment.

Platform is live and you can access it by doing a user account in 30 seconds: https://burning-stories.gopf.com . For any feedback, just reply to this message or email me at jukka-...@protonmail.com

Disclaimer

This is a prototype, created using corporate tools on a pro bono basis to accelerate development. You will notice placeholder vocabulary such as "industry reports" or "management insights". These do not reflect Burner values and will all be removed before public release. The sponsor organization supporting this R&D work will not be referenced in any public communication either.

This is part of the ongoing Burning Stories Project, where we do participatory art, science and storytelling experiments, for more see https://burning-stories.com. For events, our vision is to bring this AI into physical form at Black Rock City and at regional events.

With appreciation,
Jukka-Pekka & Burning Stories Team
