Hi Burning Nerds!
Members of this list might be interested in either attending or submitting an abstract for Psychedemia, an interdisciplinary psychedelics conference in Columbus, Ohio this August 12th to 14th. Ten years ago, Psychedemia made history as the first psychedelics conference to be sponsored and funded by an academic institution since the resurgence of psychedelic research. I am serving on the academic advisory committee.
In partnership with the newly founded Center for Psychedelic Drug Research and Education at The Ohio State University, Psychedemia 2022 will provide a rigorous interdisciplinary symposium for exchanging ideas, evaluating dominant perspectives, and critiquing current approaches to developing social frameworks for psychedelic use. This conference will review the recent history of psychedelic research and culture; assess where we currently stand; and chart pathways for the future of the field. A richly varied program will include Lectures, Symposia, Spotlight Sessions, and a pre-conference Workshop to connect and evolve clinical practice.
Call for Abstracts: This conference will have opportunities for presenters to share their research as 15-minute talks followed by panel discussion, 3-minute flash talks, and poster presentations. Abstracts are due May 6th. Abstracts will be evaluated based on scholastic merit, impact on the field, and originality. During submission, you will be asked to select the preferred format of your presentation. However, you may be asked to present in another format due to limited slots for each format. During Psychedemia 2012, the poster session was a highlight event of the conference. Psychedemia 2022 will continue in this tradition: The poster gala will host the Saturday night open bar, and the flash talks will be held on the main stage with no concurrent events. As such, all non-panel events have prominent placement on our schedule.
