Queerburners Guide 2026 - Call for Contributions!

Greetings All,

Please circulate the below announcement and attached flyer to any LGBTQ+ Burners who may have interest. The annual guide was a simple listing of events and camps; but this year we are seeking to include contributions from the broader queer burner community. We're also diverging from the glossy magazine format of recent years, and turning back to newsprint in keeping with the long legacy of DIY publications associated with The Burn.

Queerburners Guide 2026 - Call for Contributions Seeking contributions for the annual QueerBurners Event Guide, which may include:

• Short written pieces: editorial, poetry, freeform, research, philosophy… (up to 400 words, may include one accompanying image)

• Visuals: photography, collage, illustration… (4x3, 3x4, of 1x1 image ratio).

• “Stupid or Sexy?” suggestions (≤ 8 words for each pair)

• A 'Playa Artist' Profile (up to 450 characters of about 70 words, and headshot)

What we’d love in the mix:

• Snark (the smart and stupid varieties),

• Opinions, #facts, absurdities, hot takes, critiques, queer joy

Submittals are encouraged from LGBTQ+ Burners, especially

• BIPOC, trans & nonbinary contributors

• Playa Veterans, Recent 'Virgins,' and everyone in between

• All Burners, whether you are coming in 2026 or not

Submittals are due Thursday July 9th, 2026 by 5:00 p.m. Pacific. Early submittals are encouraged, and can be revised up through the deadline.
