Gardening with Greywater: How Recycled Water can Transform the Urban Landscape

Tune into KPFA 94.1 FM this Friday, August 31st, at 1:00 pm, as Terra Verde explores ecological and ethical grounds for greywater reuse at a household level with Laura Allen of Greywater Action and Elizabeth Dougherty of Wholly H2O. We'll discuss technical, legal, and economic considerations for greywater recycling, particularly in residential and metropolitan areas of California. We'll examine: What do greywater systems offer today's urban farmers and native plant landscapers, both in the short and long terms? What are the benefits at a larger scale--for cities, bioregions, the commons... the common good? How does greywater recycling compare to other methods of water conservation with regard to the inputs and investments involved? Where can listeners in the Bay Area turn for support and more information about installing greywater systems?

"We're probably known around the universe as that really noisy blue planet where everybody pees in their water." (Will Durst)

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one
hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
