OMG - that needs a total rewrite and where did they get the photo?
Most bodies only recognise chocolate? (Which is apparently
synonymous with sable/brown???)

This is a classic: "Theoretically, genetic Caramel Burmillas also
exist, being black-based with the "caramelising" gene. Although cats
have been bred that have a definite Caramel appearance distinct from
Lilacs, Caramel is not generally recognised, and there is some
argument as to whether the caramelising gene even genetically exists.
Since the Burmilla inherits its colour ranges from two different
breeds, there is also the possibility of the entire Burmese spectrum
of colours (black/bombay, sable/brown, chocolate, champagne, cinnamon,
taupe etc)"

"black-based with the 'Caramelising' gene"? They mean Dilute
modifier. And then, having said that it's questionable as to whether
it exists, they go on to list 'taupe', which is a designer name used
by not terribly many for lilac based caramel.

Happy re-writing, Alida!

Thanks for asking me to join Alida!! My comments below......

***"some cat societies accept blue?" Other colours may have no
lining??? And almond shaped??? As for that photo, I cannot remember
where that photo was filched from, but I have a horrible feeling/
rememberance it is a NSW bred cat ( I could be wrong about
that........)

A burmilla's eye color is usually green, although some cat societies
accept blue (and yellow eyes are permitted in kittens). Black cats
have eyeliner in black; other colours may have no lining or soft
brown. The shape of their eyes are almond-shaped.

I cannot tell a lie - I I bounced Alida's email to you, because I
think this list could benefit from having you on it.

I just skimmed the guts of this work of fantasy. Oh, dear! It gets
worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Urgent re-write needed, preferably by someone
who's actually SEEN one!

Not only someone who has actually seen one, but who might have bred a
few, and there are eminently qualifed persons in Europe, Australia and
New Zealand, none of those who have seen this wikipedia article agree
with it, so its time for a rewrite.
