Hi All

 

IAM DESPERATE!!

 

I have 4 Burmilla kittens now 13 weeks old.  Three of them are long hair, with one female and the othr one is short hair, male.  They are really beautiful cats.

 

I need to sell these kittens urgently as it is causing major upheaval and arguments in our house, mainly because we cannot afford them!!  So PLEASE!  If you know of someone interested, ley me know.

Hi. I am in the U S.  

It is a joy to breed but a hardship if you cannot place the cats.    I am in the same situation right now.  If you cannot sell, consider giving them away for free and don't breed what you cannot place in loving homes.  That is my advice to you and advice I intend to follow for myself if this situation continues. I have six kittens which I need to place. One nice thing about Traditional Persians is that they are always popular, especially the shaded silver chinchilla types. Best of luck to you.  Marlene

If it comes down to it, I will take one of the long hair kittens and give him/her a home, but I can unfortunately not buy one or fly it down to Cape Town. I have a kitten myself – female..

Hi Rhona,

Are any of the kitten's females and are they related to Alidas cats. If not I'd be interested in a female longhair. I've taken over half of Alida's breeding programme and want a long hair queen.

I do not breed the Burmillas, but a related breed, Traditional Chinchilla Persian. It is nice that you have this support group.  I have nothing like that in the US.  The other Persian breeders for the most part keep to themselves and don't help each other. I did meet one really helpful breeder and she wants to join Alida's Chinchilla group. She shared with me some sites which she is very happy with.  I do not know if they are international or just US based, but she highly recommended the following to place kittens for sale on line: Pets4you, Kittysites.com, breeders club.net and Cat Fancy Breeder Association.net.    Alida, this lady is from preciousgemspersians.com and she breeds Traditional Persian Silvers if you want to add her to interest group In the U S we have a magazine called Cat Fancy and I just started calling breeders in the ad sections in the back of the magazine. If you have a similar pet magazine in your country, you could get one and it might give you ideas.  There are a lot of Internet marketing sites that can bring in potential clients.  It is always best to have the phone ringing off the hook and to know that you can place these cats. Sorry for not having the time to reply earlier. 

Rhona's kittens are from a daughter of Cherie-Finesse Adair Black Paw (called "Tasha" by Rhona). Cherie-Finesse Adair Black Paw is a sister of Cherie-Finesse Adair Dehlia (whose pedigree you have). Black Paw tested HK clean.

If I have it right, the father is Cherie-Shelldon Alvin,  a Burmilla LH [LH F1p/F0g)]. If I have it right, the father of Alvin is Cherie-Finesse Sylvanus of Soulmates (aka "Peter Perfect")  [SH F1p, F0g] and the mother is  a Chinchilla (Cherie-Shelldon St Jean).

So, Denis, you can mate a female from Rhona's litter with Cherie-Finesse Sparkie (whom you call "Bluewey") whith 100% non in-breeding.

The father is Cherie – ShellDon

Hercules AKA Oscar.He is a longhair Burmilla owned by Dr Lene Nel.His brother is Alvin.Alvin is still intact.He is available for stud to anybody in SA.
