The March meeting of the Burlington Walk-Bike Council will be next week on Wed., March 12, 5:30-7 pm.  It was pushed back to the second Wednesday this month because of a conference room conflict. 

This month we'll get updates from DPW on Battery St, the NNE Sidewalk Scoping Study, and priorities for using the $20M bond that was just passed.  We'll also start a conversation on a local Complete Streets Policy.

2. Project Updates (25 min) 

We’ll get updates from DPW on the final Battery St. Preferred Alternative and proposed interim improvements, as well as on the New North End Sidewalk Scoping Study.  There will be time for questions and discussion.


3. Bond Priorities (25 min) 

We’ll also hear from DPW about their initial priorities for work to be done under the just-approved $20M General Obligation Bond. There will be time for questions and discussion.


4. Local Complete Streets Policy (30 min) 

We’ll start a conversation on the idea of establishing a local Complete Streets Policy to complement the state policy.  We’ll start with a brief presentation from Local Motion. 



Previous Meeting – At the February 5th, 2025 meeting, we discussed DPW’s mission and metrics for transportation, as well as the BWBC’s mission.

The BWBC is an all-volunteer advisory council to the City of Burlington. We work closely with and advise the Department of Public Works and the Department of Parks, Recreation, & Waterfront on infrastructure improvements and policy changes for walking and bicycling. The council also leads advocacy efforts and organizes events and activities that promote and celebrate walking and biking in Burlington and beyond.  See BWBC Webpage and Meeting Minutes and Agendas
