This temporary flex-post roundabout will be in place for a year so it will be very interesting to see what the study shows after that period.
- At only 11,000 ADT, will motorists discover they kind of like that freeflow thing goin’ on?
- Will pedestrians feel safe with only flex posts to keep cars in their lanes?
And unlike those permanent roundabouts most engineers insist on building, this one can be tweaked any old time just to watch what happens.
- Might closer-spaced flex posts give it more definition?
- How about RPMs around the truck apron perimeter?
Given how inexpensive a flex-post roundabout is to install/remove, perhaps researchers could make use of this model for certain types of roundabout research.
I’d also like to see a nighttime photograph of it.
