The Burlington Walk Bike Council is leading a temporary demonstration project on North Avenue between Shore Road and Tracy Drive, starting this Sunday, October 19th and ending Sunday, October 26th.
This segment, which is just over a half mile, connects many of the New North End's schools, community centers, and neighborhoods.
The project will use quick-build elements to convert the current buffered bike lanes into protected bike lanes using quick-build posts, creating a low-stress bicycle corridor through the New North End.
The goal is to give residents a firsthand experience of what
it feels like to bike on North Avenue with real separation
from traffic. By testing this design, we can:
• Show how protection makes biking safer and more comfortable
for all ages and abilities
• Gather feedback from residents, businesses, and community
organizations about their experience
• Help bring Burlington's long-term goals closer to
implementation

Please go check it out during the next week and then provide feedback using this form: https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/fdd050e7f9b04aeeadce4209919a998d
There has already been coverage by WCAX, with lots of negative comments to their posting, so it would be great to get feedback from people actually using the bike lanes, based on what is installed, rather than just from people who don't like biking and bike lanes.
