Hi Folks,
The attached PDF is the most recent draft of our proposed letter to Mayor Weinberger, expected to go out on Friday, 5/18. The current craft reflects some minor wordsmithing suggested in response to the first draft, while retaining the limited scope consensed at the Wed, May 15 Direct Action WG meeting.

Rather than simply sending an electronic copy to the mayor's office, I suggest that we take advantage of the greater formality of delivering a hard copy. One respondent suggest that the letter be hand-delivered in person; I lean toward the formality of a certified letter, which must be signed-for by one of the mayor's designees. Please let me know sometime before noon, Friday, if you have a strong opinion on either. It' will help us to make up our minds. There is no harm in doing both. Whichever method we choose, I will probably follow-up late Monday with an e-copy.

Ever, your humble servant,

I met with Mayor Miro as an individual asking for his opinion and support of the Occupy Democracy Movement 2 weeks ago. He seemed, obviously given his position, a little nervous about supporting a 24-7 visibly occupied encampment defense of Democracy to bring the 1% down into non-threatening degrees of accountablility.  However, I, personally, said I compassionately understood his position to represent for financial interests connected to the pyramid hierarchy of the Banking Cartels bid for World dominancy, subverting Democracy behind the scenes. I genuinely asked him to think of myself, and people like me (explicitly stating that not all Occupiers were like me, eiter wanting me to represent the whole or acting in behavior that I condon), as being able to do a job voicing the very real and extremely important issues of defending our Democracy in a constant forthright manner that paid executives can not readily do when their jobs are threatened by the financial powers. I honestly believe our eye-contact and hearts met in a positive and compassionate for each others positions way that belays appreciation of our stand and his wish to help us, if only he can against whatever hierarchical bigotry pressures his office. He said, " I hope to meet with a group representing the Occupy Movement as a whole".  I believe it should be a positive meeting that, if not presented too negatively, can further his understanding and support of our movement and the need for a 24-7 vigil encampment to address the evolution-revolutionairy nature of the very important need for accountable governmental change adressing the financial issues of our country. Personally, I repeat the stand of Occupy groups all around the country, that it is the gathered encampment of people free from rent, work and many other demanding affairs, ie available to live and work for the cause,  who are best suited to maintaining the constant vigil that REAL EVOLUTION REVOLUTION needs to be fully present until our very necessary demands for preserving Democracy are met. Obviously ever single person who can help, is truely important, but, as I communicated, sincerely humbly, to the Burlington Mayor, "We need a to be a visible constant vigiliant Occupation for Democracy ...or we are relegated to meetings. lol SunSeerly Sonder o the ELFven Kind : ) 2012

Sonder,
I hear in your message a desire to advance the movement through
cooperative relations with the Mayor, and compassion for whatever
pressures he might be experiencing. I believe robustly in showing
solidarity with anyone who might ally themselves with us, if that
solidarity might be reciprocated. Some times this amounts to showing
"benefit of the doubt".

Having just returned from Montreal and marched with the students, and
been pushed by a black uniformed para-military, and having had extensive
discussions about the capitalist project to under mine civil liberties
and freedom from the corporate agenda, We will need to send a very
strong message to miro,

I must go.
