Hi Folks,

Please accept this first draft of our invitation to Mayor Miro Weinberger to discuss Occupy Burlington's use of public space.

Feel free to send to me your comments and suggestions.

The letter will go forward to the Mayor with minor edits, as consensed by the Direct Action WG and City Hall WG.

As a point of information, I expect this letter to be mailed via certified mail, posted on Friday, May 18 in order for it to reach the Mayor's office by Monday.

Miro, at one point, stated that he supported the occupy movement.  What better way to put into practice what he states than by working to ensure that there are no city ordinances in effect which would inhibit free expression/speech.

Here is a letter I sent to the Mayors Office : ) lol Ecotopia Now ~*`

Dear Jessica of Burlington Mayors Office,

Thank you for your response : )  Indeed, as of today, a formal message is being posted requesting an audiance for our concensus-based Burlington Occupy Democracy General Assembly with our already fairly esteemed Burlington Mayor. I posted to that I had personally, as an idividual, met with Miro and given my sympathy and understanding for his need to cater to extremely powerful financial interests. Even local interests, presumably, pyramid all the way to the very Banking Cabal we deem as an extraordinairily subversively dangerous to accountable MiddileWay Democratic Values (extreme private controlled wealth (Trillions) is, undenially, a very dangerous force).\

As such, I shared that Miros eye-contact and sincere sympathies were evidenced concerning our need for, and role as, a 24-7 "evolutionary-revolutionary" encampment vigil working to care for the poor and concerned citizens, demanding a return to safe and accountable Democracy. The most pressing issue many of us represent is the ability to not merely have meetings and occasional demonstrations, that lack concentrated resolve, such as any living working peace core organization would have, but, rather, like most all the Occupy Movements around the World, be able to have a VISIBLE place to publicly vigil for a return to economically safe-gaurded Democracy.

As communicated with Miro, those of us without the luxury of agreeable jobs and comfortable homes can do what he and others can not so readily do. We can live and work for SAVING OUR FUTURE CIVILIZATION from a highly-corrupt financial take-over. Burlington, Vt will either be remembered in history as a place where, win or lose Democracy, we showed the World that we peacably assembled, cleanly camped and dynamically voiced for a Democracy we all believe in.

True the details of working this out will require continual work, volluntairy but morally agreeable, but the results , would truely be legendairy such that, like Bernie Sanders, Miro and us all could well be remembered as one of the most sensational, Bread and Puppet quality of healthy happy well-being, examples of urban EcoCommUnity coming together, to live together, simply out in the open close to nature (with minimal privacy of personal tents -have compassion if thats all some of own). Again, a RETURN TO TRUE DEMOCRACY, because it is no secret our present Democracy is bought and sold, is no longer representing the vote of the people, where it matters most, concerning economic security and justice for all the World to live in a future of Democratic, not totalitarian, peace and harmony.

Thank you again for your civil response. I can tell you that I am a Goddard College student finishing a degree in Democratic Sustainability and am prepared to commit 24-7 to maintaining a verifiably peaceful encampment of creative, friendly and quality living standards for the expression of this endeavour. I can also tell you, that if the authorities of Burlington crush the fullness of this movement as place to gather with all our souls together in the open, full on praying for Economic Accountability in the highest places, then participation will be relagated to part-time symbolic meetings and acts, little involving the Worlds attention as encampments are known for. Great devotion to the cause will, most probably little flourish and grow.

Arts, Music, meetings, people getting along with people of all casts and types would make an public encampment into a truely Epic time in history to be remembered. We do not question there will be trials and tribuilations, like any other place where people gather, but we know will  be representing our highest ideals ...and, in all honesty, with the Mayors office support, Burlington is probably one of the very best political climates for setting a GOOD EXAMPLE of how this could be maintained,  because we are, after all merely people learning how to live peacably sustainably together.

Of note, it would not be hard at all to identify with sister/brother encampments around the World that are really suffering the corporate militairy complex's exploitations of the World's economies. The final question is; "Should we relegate our rather liberal mountain region comfort zone security to mere symbolic gestures of meek questioning the obviously corrupt authority, that is increasingly obviously threatening the Democratic security of our World ...or, rather than waiting until impossible rebellion makes voices disappear, we could create a real wonderful well rounded encampment happening that seeks to work to express our prayers about all our issues, out in the open, in a healthy happy healing manner that the World may well rejoice the name of Burlington forever more : ) " Like any well meaning EcoCommUnity we can resolve our issues and grow ...even if this is a new endevour.

     thank you for your consideration,

                         SunSeerly,

Alexander P Ruhe of the ELFvenKind
