Hey All,

Just a friendly reminder that the default on this group is to reply to
the entire group. If you intend to reply only to an individual on a
post, you need to send directly to that person's email address.

Bradley, maybe would make sense to remind folks of this with a line in
each mail itself? I know on Yahoo groups you can set a header line to
be prepended to all emails -- not sure if that's available in Google
Groups. More effective than something in the footer.

Cheers,
Jase

Actually, I've just changed the group setting so that replies are sent to the author of the message by default. So, group members will have to choose "reply to all" from now on in order for replies to go back to the group. Almost every, if not every, mailing list I'm on works this way. Let me know if you think I should change this setting back to the way it was.

Cool, I think that makes sense. Google clearly intended to foster
continuing conversation by having "reply all" be the default in all
groups (or at least it used to be), but it invariably leads to goofs.
A lot less harm in accidentally replying to a single person when you
meant to reply-all than there is in replying-all when you intended to
reply to a single person.

Cheers,
Jase
