Hi All

Pls see below. I’ve asked Daniel to get more info as follows:

- what does she mean by ‘using the power that comes from LED lights’ for the heater?  (I don’t think there is enough power in a light circuit for a heater??)

- details of tradie who will be doing the work? (Want to make sure it’s not a DIY)

- what are the specifications of the heater? (We have to consider appearance as it is external)

If answers above are satisfactory and we are inclined to approve, we may still need to check the location of electrical wires and pipes from the As Built plans.

Thanks
Marina

Hi

I am in a ground-floor apartment and am considering putting a strip heater, which would be attached to the ceiling of the outdoor undercover area.  I would be using the power that comes from the LED lights.

Is there any problem with proceeding with this?

Regards,

Sue Ellen

Hi all,

This is a little bit concerning.

There are no external power points on balconies for L1 and L2, and I assume that there are none for the ground levels too outside? Niki, can you confirm?

I don't know if the power for the external lights can be spliced into for a heater, as my inclination is they are lower power/different connection compared to the other lights inside. I haven't checked this personally, it's just an inclination.

But, as you raised Marina, if a licenced electrician undertakes the work, I'd find comfort in that they know what they're doing and this won't be a hazard to the building.

A question raised is whether we will need to disclose this for our building insurance and because of this, it will go up?

Kind Regards,

Ben Sattler.
