Hi All,

Just so you know, I spoke to Daniel this morning about this and other open points.

QL will likely want to send out someone to check out the garage door motor, to make sure that there is no deeper problem with it. I hope this is OK but I said to Daniel that if they want to send someone out, it will be OK even if QL bills us for a site visit.

I’m thinking longer term about the garage door/motor warranty. If in fact there is an issue with the garage door and/or motor, it is better for QL to inspect and determine this for themselves. If there is an issue and they don’t detect it, it will be a lot more difficult for them to claim later that the warranty is voided, if they conduct an inspection now. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks
Marina

Hi Daniel,

The new garage door stopped working yesterday evening. I understand from Ben (copied in) that he managed to get it working again this morning by switching it off, then switching it back on again.

It appears the issue is fixed for now, however, I’m thinking we should probably let QL know, in case this happens again. QL may also be able to advise if this is something they have encountered previously for this product.

Could you please prepare an email to QL regarding this, and please also ask them to confirm (in case this happens again) whether there is a charge for their on-site attendance where the equipment stops working and is under warranty?

Thanks
Marina

Good Morning Xander,

I’ve not seen a reply to the below query. On the basis the motor has been installed. The committee has therefore assumed Quicklift would not have recommended an unsuitable solution.

Kind Regards,

Good Morning Xander,

As you are aware, the door at 233 Burke Road has stopped again.

The team at QL has recommended the motor is replaced as the solution to resolve the breakdown.

Prior to works order being issued, the committee would like to clarify that the new model motor (GA403) is suitable for the garage door at BurkeVue. It has less Newtons (horsepower) than the existing (outdated) model, i.e. 1,000N for new model vs 1,200N for outdated model.

We hoping to progress this asap, so your prompt response to this would be appreciated.

Kind Regards,
