Saturday League Practice

Salam Everyone,

 

I definitely back our captain on this one because if we feel that bowling 45 wides or dropping 9-10 catches is no big deal than we will not be going anywhere with this attitude. We would rather go and play Leisure cricket at Keith Harrow. When our captain is making an effort to arrange for food and dedicating the time to call a practice (which we desperately need) than why are we not up for it? I understand the fact that people have prior commitments but it is our responsibility to let him know so he could cancel/reschedule the practice session.

 

Since we didn’t play this weekend, we should try and make up for it and come for atleast a 2 hour practice session on Friday. I suggest 5-7pm. Or if you guys have any other suggestion on the day / time, please respond. We have got 13 confirmations so far and 2 are on standby. If you show up for practice, it will help us identify the players who are serious about playing league cricket.

Just got an email from Nanda. We can only use one nets. MCC will/might come practice. If so we will have to leave the nets. Friday pratice spot is taken by some division 1 team from 4pm to 6 pm.

    After today's win I am speechless. I am very proud to have our team chase 210 runs in just 23 overs. Our Batting has improved as you all can tell by the way we played today. It has never happened before that Team Burhani played and won 3 consecutive matches. Special thanks to Barkat Bhai who's yet again made a statement by playing an excellent innings. I am very proud to have Shabbir Gondal back in form for team Burhani with an outstanding innings of 50+ Runs. I have no words for Quaid bhai and Hamza's opening partnership (you 2 have always been the backbone). Guys with this class of batting, there is no stopping us to score 250+ runs next time. I have always enjoyed watching Taha play but today i had an opportunity to join him and man this guy hits hard. Taha, what a great way to finish our innings with Barkat bhai.

Salam all, mubarak to all burhani team for winning the match. it was a team work and specially to shabbir bhai gondal and barkat bhai  who came on wicket and changed the game. than in last taha and skipper did the rest job. now we know that burhani can beat any score, we have the best bestman and bowler and above all we are the one and best team.     This was the positive part. lets talk our negative side guys, we are very week on fielding and we know that thats why we give lot of runs on field which we are not suppose to give. lets improve our selfs in fielding and only way we can do is with the practice. lets do practices and not for batting, but only fielding practice and we will see after few months of practice we will improve our fielding a lot same like we did in batting and bowling and we have seen that its in front of us that how much we improved our batting and bowling. so lets concentrate on fielding and do more practice on fielding. lets not give other team chance to make more scores and get them out as less as we can. this is just my idea but its for all team. lets think about it and do necessary for improving . I completely agree with Abbas Bhai, fielding is our weakest link now and if we want to win the league and beat tougher teams than we need to improve our fielding.

I appeal to my team mates to take sometime out from their busy schedule to make it for practice.

I couldn't agree more... And it is self explanatory. Practice is all we need to improve our self on the field. Let's do it on Friday and this one will be a mandatory for all. Friday we will practise and ill pick a venue and send an email and directions shortly. Please note we will not practice on nets...

From an older generation - to the new - much better new geneation - of Burhani cricket players - great job team.  Now, all we need to do is for this team to continue to play as one team, give up their individual quarrels under the leadership of the current and all future captains of team Burhani, focus and practice, and always put team Burhani above their own personal interests, and thsi team will one day soon win the Saturday and then the Sunday league tournaments (InshaAllah).  It is really great to see great performnces under a unified leadership and specially new and young players coming in, joining, and embracing team burhani.  We have so much talent taht if everyone of the younger guys committed to play (if possible, we can have two solid teams instead of just one - some time in the future. 

In any case, Congrats to the whole team - As this new generation team continues to gel together to play great Cricket, I will continue now from the sidelines cheering and wishing everyone up.  I will always be available if ever we have a need for me to play but in the mean time, would love to see the growth of formal team Burhani to be champions in Houston... :)

  Our June 16th game with TCC-E has been re scheduled on a later date July 7th 2012. Having said that, our next game is on June 23rd with UCCC and we are the home team. I need your availability for this game ASAP so that i can announce this team. Once the team is announced, I will be setting up a mandatory playing 11 practice for the next 2 weeks. This upcoming match is a tough one for us guys. This team is at second place after our team on the ladder so we need to make sure to win this match by all means.   Our June 16th game with TCC-E has been re scheduled on a later date July 7th 2012. Having said that, our next game is on June 23rd with UCCC and we are the home team. I need your availability for this game ASAP so that i can announce this team. Once the team is announced, I will be setting up a mandatory playing 11 practice for the next 2 weeks. This upcoming match is a tough one for us guys. This team is at second place after our team on the ladder so we need to make sure to win this match by all means. Please take time out for this particular match to attend practice as i assure you, if we go 4-0 than there is no stopping team Burhani to even win this league. I assure you we can do this but I need your support for practice just like you support me on the ground.  This is an Humble request to all team members to attend practice as it will not be fair to get this far and not come through when we have an opportunity to win this all the way!
