Kiara Takanashi (小鳥遊キアラ; たかなしきあら, Kiara Takanashi?) is one of the main characters of the first season, and the third central to be introduced. She is a very open-hearted girl who will be the future Phoenix Warrior of Equestria.

As a Guardian of Harmony, her hair becomes bright yellow with a few orange streaks and grows down to her knees, with part of it being worn in a half-bun/topknot, decorated with a small gold crown. Her eyes turn bright cyan. She has a bright red, sleeveless button-up dress with gold swirl designs on the chest and the collar being shaped like pointy gold flames bordered in red. The skirt is a bright orange knee-length skirt with a single yellow line each going down both the left and right side of it. On the sides of her waist are also flame-shaped flaps. She has deep orange stiletto heels combined with calf-length white stockings, orange and red gloves, and gold feather earrings. Fitting for her phoenix theme, she has orange wings made of flames on her back (which surprisingly don't burn anything).

Kiara is enthusiastic and friendly, and is open with her feelings. She cares strongly for her friends and family, and misses them a great deal while she is abroad. Although energetic and sometimes chaotic in nature, and eager to collab with other members, she is secretly quite shy. She is sometimes bird-brained, being forgetful or having a short attention span. She prefers video games with fixed goals, such as RPGs, rather than open-world games like Minecraft.

Amelia Watson, in her debut stream, described Kiara as having a "positive attitude and lovely voice". Calliope Mori described her as a hard worker and an incredible singer with a great personality, and praised her fluency with Japanese.

Kiara has a particular fondness for Calliope Mori. Kiara, a phoenix who has been continuously reborn, always meets Calliope each time she dies. However, it is not within Calliope's power to keep a phoenix in the Underworld.

Kiara is the Guardian of the Phoenix Fire. She is a Fire/Air Elemental whose Element of Harmony is Honesty, and her theme color is orange. Her weapons are a sword for offense and a shield for defense, which are disguised as a single badge in her civilian form.

Kiara holds her Harmony Gem and shouts "Miracle Engage!", causing the Gem to glow and activate. She then puts the Harmony Gem close to her Power Necklace and as soon as the Necklace activates as well, the screen is engulfed in a white light.

The Guardian of the Phoenix Fire, with a caring and honest nature. Being a phoenix who hatched from an egg at the beginning of the Multiverse, she disguises herself as a human in order to not freak others out, even though everycreature already knows she's a phoenix. She is also very enthusiastic, friendly, and caring.... and sometimes brutally honest or a bit birdbrained. Her Element of Harmony is Honesty.

Ever since Kiara had become friends with Sarah, she was being teased a lot less by the rest of the Kooks. That did not mean that the teasing stopped. Especially when it came from Rafe Cameron and his group of friends.

When Kiara and Sarah had been best friends for about five months, the Camerons threw a party at their mansion. That weekend, their parents were absent (probably off to the Bahamas or something of that sort) which meant that the whole student body of Kook Academy was squished into their living room.

Kiara was dressed in a crop top and some shorts, which were both from a well-known designer. She had begun to wear the clothes that her mother would buy her so that she would fit in more with the Kooks she had recently befriended. Maybe, she had thought, that way Rafe would tease her less. However, if you asked her about her change of wardrobe, she would never admit it was because of Rafe bothering her, no. She would lie and say that she had realized how pretty all of the clothes were and that she was just being stubborn before by not wearing them.

Rafe broke out into a smile and held his hand out for her to shake. When her hand slipped through his, Rafe felt tingles travel up and down the length of his body, so he dragged the girl forward and pulled her into a dance. Kiara giggled as they began to twirl and move to the rhythm of whatever trashy song was sounding through the speakers.

Suddenly, Rafe lurched forward and connected their lips. Everything surrounding them seemed to fade away, leaving them and the music and nothing else. Rafe kissed her tenderly, which surprised Kiara as she expected him to be rougher. When they broke apart they opened their eyes and shared a knowing look before smiling a bit. With that, Rafe dragged the girl away to his room.
