Currently running VSM 7.12.0. I have a field laptop that I usually use when installing/configuring cameras on-site. I have been able to log into the cameras directly and view their video with no issues, but when logging into the VSOM via Internet explorer I ran into a 32/64 bit issue when trying to view a specific camera model's live video stream. For instance, I can view video from a Cisco 7530PD camera with no issues, but when trying to view video from a Cisco 8030 camera, I get the following error: "The streaming of H265/HEVC video is not supported on the 32 bit client. Please use the 64 bit client.".
At first I thought that it was an issue with the 32 and 64 bit Cisco Multi-Pane XML Client Addon. I tried deleting the 32 bit Multi-Pane video client and leaving the 64 bit to see if that would fix it, but it didn't. After some searching around, I found that my Internet Explorer 11 seems to open in 64 bit, but after logging into the VSOM, it switches over to 32 bit. I've tried looking up ways to force it to use 64 bit but haven't had any luck. I do have the option for "Enable Enhanced Protected Mode*" on in the advanced tab of internet options. I also turned on protected mode under the security tab of internet options. I added the VSOM IP address to the trusted sites. Then I tried taking it off of the trusted sites. No change. Has anybody else ran into this issue?
Hello, I am running 7.11 with 64 bit plugin in IE using these settings. Please try them and see if they help. Open internet options and go the the security tab. Make sure enable enhanced security mode is checked here. Then go to the advanced tab and scroll down to the security section. Here enable 64 bit processes and uncheck or disable enhance security mode*. I would also make sure the 32 bit is uninstalled as well. From here IE should auto detect the 64 bit plugin and no longer bother to prompt the install for the 32. Good luck.
Thank you for the response. I did the first step you mentioned although it was called "Enable Protected Mode" on my PC. When I went to the advance tab to enable 64 bit processes, it wasn't an option. I didn't see it anywhere. Are you running Windows 7 with IE 11?
The end of IE has been talked about for years. Even if you ignore Microsoft's announcements, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that when Edge first came out that IE was on its way out the door. Unfortunately, Intuit has dragged their feet about this for years.
C'mon! As a Advanced Certified ProAdvisor, I pay over $800 for a product suite and dedicated support that won't download from one of the largest banks in the world because of this failure to manage reality. I have clients whose cash flow needs depend on rapid and updated bank information.
And on the opposite side I also have clients that need absolute independence from the internet, because of location or security reasons, but Intuit requires an internet connection to verify the desktop license periodically. That can be a show stopper for some of my clients.
Today Microsoft is pushing me the Windows 21H1 update which removes IE completely from my system. I can hold this update for a few more days but the QuickBooks depedency on IE needs to be resolve ASAP, like NOW dam it.
Today Microsoft is pushing me the Windows 21H1 update which includes the systematic removal of IE from my computer. I can hold on this update for a few more days, but not much longer. The QuickBooks dependency on IE needs to be resolved ASAP, as in NOW dam it !
I am experiencing the same problem. I bought a new laptop, and do not want IE or Edge on my computer. However, Quickbooks will not open without IE. If you try to download IE from Microsoft, you get Edge, which does not help with opening Quickbooks. Please resolve this problem soon. I am now running my old laptop just for Quickbooks, since the new one cannot open my company files because of the browser problem. (Please do not suggest making IE the default browser. You can't get it anymore and no one wants it for a default.)
I called tech support and they assured me that the version of QB Desktop I'm running will run fine without Internet Explorer. It took a while to get the balls to do it, but I just did. I created a Windows restoration point, installed Windows 21H1 update, rebooted and then started my QuickBooks PME Pro 2019.
SERIOUSLY!?!? Was moving back to Desktop after a 2 year dumpster fire that is Quickbooks Online, Microsoft has finished throwing the dirt on the grave of IE, the family is in the limo heading to the wake and Intuit is showing up like, 'Great party huh?' IE still required for QB Desktop 2021? Unbelievable!
The change windows optional features shows an empty checkbox for IE11 but checking it does no good. There is no activity after placing a check in the box next to IE and saving/closing the dialouge box. Re-opeing the optional features again and the checkbox shows cleared again.
This system worked well until this week when it applied a recent round of windows updates. Rebooting - disabeling antivirus , trying microsoft KB, system restore points etc all fail to bring back IE 11 thus making quickbooks usable.
I am having the same issue. Problem I am having is I cannot turn on internet explorer nor can I install it. I'm getting a install error. I cannot reset my pc either. I am seriously about to cry. I absoltely need access back to quickbooks to run my business. Please help.
To fix your Internet Explorer browser issue, you'll need to repair and reinstall the program. Also, please ensure you meet the browser requirements. At this time, QuickBooks Desktop 2021 requires internet access and Internet Explorer 11 (32-bit).
Do you know if Quickbook has found a solution to an issue that has been raised almost 3 years ago? Also, considering that it is not recommended to continue using Explorer and it is about to be 100% discontinued.
Do you know if Quickbook has done any progress, considering the fact that the issue has been raised about 3 years ago and that it is not recommended to be installed and has stopped being supported by Microsoft last August 2021 and will soon be completely discontinued?
How utterly stupid is this response. I am not having issues with IE 11 since I won't use it. My complaint still hasn't been addressed by quicken except for inane asinine responses such as this one. I don't need to reinstall, I need quickbooks to stop using an insecure web browser!

My (2) printers are functioning without error. But, for the past few weeks, when I try to print a page while I'm on the internet (using Internet Explorer), the Print Window does not open. However, if I restart my computer and return to the same internet address and repeat my print command, the Print Window opens and the print command is successful. I have tried solutions regarding the internet temporary files with some sporatic success. Any suggestions to correct this problem?
I understand that you have an HP Pavilion 500-281 Desktop PC and when you try to print from the Internet explorer, the print window does not open. You have to restart the PC and then the print window appears from internet explorer. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
I downloaded Google Chrome. Using Chrome as my browser, I am successful in printing from the internet. I can still print under Internet Explorer only after I restart my computer when I encounter the failure of my Print Window to open.
You can reset Internet Explorer settings to what they were when Internet Explorer was first installed on your PC. This can be useful for troubleshooting problems that may be caused by settings changed after installation. Note that resetting Internet Explorer isn't reversible, and all previous settings are lost after reset.
Earlier, I had read under a Windows forum, that the problem might be traced to the deletion of a "Low" file under the IE temporary file. I checked and found I had a functioning Low file. A suggested next step was to attempt a command prompt run as administrator: ICACLS"%\AppData\Local\Temp\Low"/setintegritylevel(OI)(OC)low. When I entered this command, I received a message that the c ommand had an error in file name, syntax, etc.
Lastly, in the related problem I had using Adobe Reader for a downloaded Internet file, I looked at the Reader history and found an entry: RdrCEF.exe--Application error Oxc0000022. Is this informative in any way?
2) I know how to uninstall programs through Control Panel, but I don't know howto uninstall IE 11 within Windows 7. The Step 2 link in your referenced "reinstall" procedure leads to a general purpose Microsoft site through which I couldn't find any specific instruction to uninstall my existing IE 11.
3)If I try to "run" my downloaded new copy without a prior uninstallment, I get a message that I already have a newer version (than the downloaded one) of IE 11 installed. I guess I could again restore my computer to an earlier time and try to install again, but I don't have much confidence that that would be successful.
At work our intranet is hosted on in SharePoint 2010 environment. On the intranet our dev guys have developed a number of interactive InfoPath forms that users can use to complete a number of requests such as log an IT Service Desk job, etc. The problem is every time they click the link to access the form, the default behaviour of Internet Explorer is to download the file and then prompt if you want to open it or save it. This is really annoying for clients and pretty much we would like to provide them with a seamless experience when using the intranet service.
If you are using Office 2013, then step 6 needs to change. You should be using InfoPath.Solution.4 as the value name. Note the change from 3 to 4. If you do not do this, you will continue to get prompted.
