Hi,

A free talk this Thursday in Weymouth on the RepRap 3D printer by its
creator, Adrian Bowyer of the Bowyer-Watson algorithm for computing
Voronoi diagrams.

(Some of Dorset LUG have been to IET talks before at Weymouth, e.g. on
Bletchley Park or IBM's Cell processor.)

Cheers,
Ralph.

Glad to hear it. I've known about it for months and expected it to be
good but I had stuff to do that I couldn't postpone, annoyingly. What
was the turnout like? Did he have a machine to demo?

Cheers,
Ralph.

turnout was good must have been at least 30 people there. They did have
a machine looked like the original Mendel design. They had it printing a
coat hanger which was cool as I got to see what a part actually looked
like straight after the printing process instead of when it had been
cleaned up. they also passed around a few printed objects such as a gear
and a aerofoil

I actually have all the parts to build the older Darwin Cartesian reprap
version but never really found the time to finish it. Its definitely
something I want to finish at some point. It doesn't help that i'm now
spending all my spare time learning to fly rc helicopters and learning
to build rc quadcopters like the ones found here
