to BUNIX
Hi there,

We had a discussion at Barcamp about this month's meeting. Unless
anyone objects, we will count the barcamp as the April meeting. This
would mean we can meet up in May and do the handover onto the next
chairs (sudoers) of bunix. This will involve the pub.

Rob, Dan, I suggest you start communicating about this stuff.

Thanks

PS.

Come find me and add me as a contact on flickr for pics of barcamp. (vext01)

Agreed,

So first order or business. Who will be in Bournemouth next academic year
and would be willing to take chair. The title is semi-symbolic and the
workload is not very large at all. I'll be looking to write up what I do
on a month by month basis so things should be easy going for anyone taking
the spot.

Of course those of us oldies will be around as well.

As a side-point I am 'potentially' presenting my dissertation at the
mid-placement day. I'll be using it as a recruitment drive so we'll
hopefully have some new active members

There is a chance I shall be returning to bournemouth next year for a MSc over at the media school. I'm happy to nominate myself for a chair position for 2010/2011 if I do return/live near bournemouth.

The value of bunix for undergrads alone is more than enough reason to get me to commit to keeping bunix running and everything else that comes with it.

I've been pretty crap in terms of talking at meets, I shall remedy this and talk at the may meeting:
why openCV is awesome and a short demo of my disso and the workings behind it.

Y0,

With regards to recruiting new members, next year Andrew Main is pretty interested in the C++ tutor sessions that I offered to run and *should* hopefully be advertising round the uni at the beginning of the term. So I dare say that I can get some people from there to come to Bunix. Afterall, Unix and C goes hand in hand (Coz everything is broke).

Matt: I look forward to that talk, OpenCV does sound like it could come in useful.

Also, Since I will be living in and around uni for the next year, I am more than helpful to help out with Bunix stuff.

Regards,

Karsten,

Cool - though we'd need to know your staying until we make things final.

OpenCV does sound cool.
