Guidelines for the BunchofCurators Sporcle Account

Please take the time to read, and be clear on these, THANKS!

1.  BunchofCurators is open to any participating Curator who is happy to commit to these guidelines.

2.  You should know, and be OK with, the fact that this group, and the account, will be “managed”, and that is my role.

3.  Many of you know that I’m a pretty easy-going person, and I have a sense of humour; but at times I’ll be presenting my “detail-oriented” side, because I like to present REASONS for what I present. Hence, my communications are often “longish”. Occasionally I will SHOCK you with a brief perfunctory comment or response to something!

4.  At least initially, I’ll be giving the final “approval” for public release of quizzes, and for “finalized” quiz-making Templates that we develop. I expect that in any areas of disagreement, we would initiate a discussion, and I’ll always “acquiesce” to well-presented counter-arguments. As time passes, this role very well may be extended to other Curators who are willing to provide the vigor and level of responsibility necessary to “co-manage” this venture.

5.  The account Profile, and Connections are not to be used.

6.  The account may not be logged into, and used, for the purposes of playing, rating, favoriting, or commenting on any quizzes, other than commenting on quizzes for whose construction you participated. (Note, however that I will be setting up a few “friend” connections with the administration, and to help me monitor the account).

7.  New Quiz ideas should be presented in the aptly-named “New Quiz Ideas” thread below. Anyone can suggest one, and anyone can participate in the construction. Whoever “initiates” the quiz will be the “Owner” of it, so to speak; and will guide its development. And a new thread specifically related to that quiz should then be started. Once the “Owner” is satisfied with it, and I’ve agreed (done a final proof), I’ll put it “live” for all to marvel at!

8.  The  goal is to have fun, working together, to make really good, creative quizzes!

9.  Quiz Templates can be proposed by anyone. Yeah, in the “New Template Ideas” thread below. Either that person, or whichever of you “experts” steps forward to produce it, will “Own” it and develop it; and you’ll start a unique thread. The goal is to create samples of various types of quizzes which take advantage of built-in design features, or to construct various sample formats.

10. Please do NOT share the account’s e-mail address or password with anyone. That will be grounds for exclusion from the account.

11. I may think of some other loose ends later as well, and will post anything else later.

I included that information as part of the Message I wrote - it should be part of the invitation e-mail you just received and just used to activate your participation in this forum.

But seriously, and truly, this venture really evolved from a lot of stuff that ALL of us have been doing:  Innovative quiz-designing; Collaboration in the Sporcle U. forum; Our predecessors (UnitedEditors); Helping "newbies" in our roles as Curators, and so on.

I'm happy just to be a part of this fine bunch!
