Events from GridLayout Items

had the chance to give the new version (from github) a try ;)
looks excellent but i have run into a small show stopper...

before this version i was able to add an event listener this way:
...
fooGrid = new Grid();
...
fooGrid.addEventListener(GridItem.EVENT_CLICK, onFooClick);

now i tried with the fresh GridLayout (works like a charm) but i'm
not receiving anything when i click on the items:
...
fooGrid = new GridLayout( fooContainer, ThumbnailItem );
...
fooGrid.addEventListener(GridLayout.EVENT_ITEM_CLICK, onFooClick);

do you have a clue what i am doing wrong??? ;)
