Yes, using wine or virtuilization. Are you using an Nvidia or ATI of other card? It makes a difference. Also what Linux distro are you using or looking at?

Ati drivers are hit and miss, may I suggest Mint 7. I have been running it and also windows 7 in virtual Box for a few months and It flies windows 7 and Direct X 10 are sweet. I play battlefield and call of duty, also just got Batman Archam asylum. All run seamless in virtual box. Ati drivers for Linux are there, but you have to hunt. Mint is a fork of Ubuntu, so all the Ubuntu drivers are installed and ATI base drivers are there.
Good luck, Sir. Let me know if I can help further!

Thanks,
Jason Jaggers

I am a developer and have had all the beta builds and got the RTM two weeks ago. It will be out in Oct. Just wait for a legit copy. It is WELL worth the wait. It will make you smile.

Thanks,

Yeah, MSDN subscribers have access to the RTM build already.  I have it running on my home machine.

Hi Claude Jones

I would like to test the virtual Box and Windows 7 (I have a beta), and a good video card. But I do not have the games. I would like a copy of the game demos.

Games have been the only thinkg keeping from junking my xp PC. DO you know if oblivion play too?

You will be very disappointed with 3D acceleration performance for games inside of a VM.  One option is to check compatibility listings for Crossover Games and/or the open source Wine project.  In my opinion, however, it would be best to dual-boot Linux and Windows, or run Windows as your primary OS and virtualize Linux, if gaming is a priority for you.

Luckily, you can download most game demos off the internet, without having to send them from one person to the other.  For example, here's the Doom 3 demo:

Must be nice demos.  You'll want to discuss that off-list with him, then.
