Recently I was reviewing my reloading supplies and found several boxes of Winchester Western FMC match bullets left over long ago.  I’m wondering if anyone remembers loading these bullets?  From examining several bullets in the one open box I have, the bullet appear to be full metal jacketed except for the bullet base and cast from a HG 130 mold.   My question to the group is:

Any ideas if they are still made or offered for sale today?   And if you had success in shooting them?  if yes, do you remember the load?  Last, do they have any value?  Any and all information about these bullets are appreciated.

Thanks,

Thank you for this information.  I just realized your suggested load is similar to what others have recommended for the 160 gr. Valiant  bullets.  Now you have me curious as to what the velocity is for this load?

Another member said they tested this bullet using a barrel tester and had gotten 1” groups @ 50 yards.  Perhaps these bullets can and do shoot well.

I’ve shot these with 4.5 grains of Bullseye, and it seemed to duplicate Federal Match (zero, accuracy, pistol operation, etc.). I never chronographed the loads.

David,

Thank you for this info.  Were the Remington bullets you sold new-old-stock?   I ask as I don’t remember seeing Remington bullets being sold for a long time now.  I only seen Remington factory ammunition in a few local gun stores in past few years.

Good bullet.  Don't crimp them at all just remove the bell. .470-.472
Bullseye powder.  Work up to most accurate load.
