Defenders of Children.

Dear Friend/Family,

 

I know everyone leads busy lives, but if you could possibly take time to sign this petition it would mean a lot for the health and safety of children in our four state area.  I have talked with family members from  the areas of Pennsylvania where fracking already takes place.  The stories of sick children break my heart.  Fracking is not about some "environmental" issue, it's about living children.

 

I'll be on a bus to Trenton on Nov. 21 to stand with thousands of others to protest against this practice.  Please stand behind me with your signature on this petition.  If you want more information on calling or writing a letter just let me know.  Or get on a bus yourself!

In just a few days, the Delaware River Watershed, which provides drinking water to 15 million people in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware, could be opened up to the dangers of horizontal Hydraulic Fracturing (also known as fracking).

The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) has proposed a plan to lift a three year ban on fracking and, for the first time, allow this risky new method of gas drilling, that has already contaminated water supplies across the country.

The DRBC is meeting on November 21st to vote on the proposed regulations. Each state's governor, along with President Obama, have a representative on the commission. We need to strongly urge them to reject this dangerous plan.
