It's been a while and we activists are each busy doing what we
each believe needs doing. Many of us are involved with the Obama campaign
and/or the environment, and more.
As some of you know, I'm working on the corrupting influence of
money in politics.
There's two things ahead that you may find
interesting:
1. September 13, the movie "Koch Brothers Exposed" will
be presented at 6:30 PM at the county library in Manalapan. It's being
sponsored by The League of Women Voters.
2. There is an organization called NJPPN (North Jersey
Public Policy Network) that provides extraordinary presentations. Although
donations are requested, their programs are free of charge. I've been to
several of their presentations and have never been disappointed. Lawrence
Lessig, James Hanson, and representatives of Public Citizen are samples of
speakers that I've enjoyed, and many more.
This is a north Jersey organization and it takes me an hour
each way to drive there from Holmdel. I often have to drive during
commuter hour, which makes the round trip even longer. Although there will
be valuable opportunities missed, I've pretty much decided to attend future
programs only if I can share the ride with someone.
If you're interested in attending any of all of
these, please be in touch and I'll gladly drive
with you.
Unhappily I can't make the August 31 presentation, but if anyone attends,
I'd love to hear about it.
Attached are programs to come.
Please let me know if you're interested. If you sign up for it's
mailing list, you'll receive regular notifications of what's ahead.
Thanks for all that you do
