Hey

Anyone know anything about Norcal pheasant hunting or interested in giving it a shot?

Try Gray Lodge. A bird dog is advised.

I know of a few:

Birds landing
Hastings island
Quail point
Knights landing

All are around basically east of Sacramento. I've hunted Quail point and Hastings island before, but also hear good things about birds landing. The same MO for most places - they plant the pheasant or chukar on the field that you rent, then you go out and hunt it. A dog is necessary, guides are optional. I like quail point because you can rent a trained pointer, which is pretty fun in and of itself. The pheasant are generally pretty stupid and not great flyers, so for that reason, I find the chukar a slightly better challenge. All have facilities on site to clean the birds if you don't want to. In the end, always a fun time!

Hope that helps.

Solid list here from Lester. I tried birds landing last year and thought it was great for the money. I had a guide, dog, and birds pre loaded onto the hunt property. All Included in the price. They also have bird cleaning and prep for an extra fee.
