I've be trying to run BE Viewer 1.5.5 using Window 7, on a collection of VM memory files (.vmem).  It works just fine on files ~1GB in size.  If I run on files ~2GB I get the error: "Exception read error skipping (E:\...\filename.vmem)".  If I create a zip file containing the ~2GB file, Bulk Extractor finishes just fine and with results.  Is there a known file size limit when using the "Directory of Files" option?

Additionally, if I create a .zipx file, there is no error, but there are also no results.  Can BE expand .zipx files?

Thanks for your help,
-Brian

Apparently there is a file size limit when using the directory of files option of 2GB.

I suspect that this is a problem with either the Java runtime environment or your operating system. Try running on 64-bit windows.

bulk_extractor does not understand the bzip, lzma and ppmd compression algorithms used in .zipx

However, you are welcome to add support for the bzip, lzma and ppmd compression algorithms!
