What many people love about journaling is the ability to personalize it. Your online journal can be personalized just like a paper one, if not more. With Evernote, you can do everything from changing your fonts and colors to adding images and attachments.

For example, if you ride the bus to work, make journaling part of your morning or evening commute. You could do it with dessert in the evening or during the commercials of your favorite late-night TV show.

Anyone have any apps or sites that are good for using as a "digital" bullet journal? I've been trying to get back into it for years but I just can't get my brain back into that mindset no matter how hard I've been trying. I'm wondering if an app or something I can use across my devices might help because then I wouldn't have to remember to carry it around. Any suggestions?

Hence the need for choosing a digital journal software that emulates this BuJo philosophy.

But I've been wondering in the Index is even necessary with the search function being so good at reading my handwriting. Just wondering if any one uses an index in their digital bujo. How do you use it? Is it easy to flip back and forth? What's your platform?

There is more than one way to classify an entry with TheBrain, but the one I feel works best for bullet journaling is using thought types. Each thought in a brain can be assigned one thought type, so I have created the following types:

If you have loved your physical planner and bullet journals then we have great news. A Digital Bullet Journal or a Digital Planner are nearly identical to your usual paper version except that all your pages, collections, weekly spread and calendars are on your iPad.

All the things you love about your journal are set up as PDFs on your device. This allows you, with a digital bullet journal app and a couple of tools, to use a digital planner exactly like your traditional journal. From stickers to doodles, bullet journal template setups, and more.

It is not a 100% must-have but if you want to create a beautiful and easy-to-use digital journal then a stylus is going to make this so much easier than trying to use your finger. You will be able to write neatly and precisely as well as being much more accurate for clicks, hyperlinks, stickers, and other digital accessories.

Firstly, it is totally possible to create your own digital planner from scratch, there are many programs available to create digital planners (free and paid). But it can take a lot of time and effort.

With a digital template you can make your pages suit your needs and styles by making the bullet journal pages using the tools available inside the apps or by inserting stickers, washi tape and pre-made pages if you feel like putting something together real fast!

Hi. Love the idea of this but whilst I can get the daily journal to post, neither the rapid log or the end of day appears in Agenda. Brand new to this shortcut thing so struggling to know what to do next.

Gone are the days of carrying around a heavy physical journal and struggling to keep track of your to-do lists and appointments. Our template allows you to have all the benefits of traditional bullet journaling, such as customizable layouts and the ability to track your progress, but with the added convenience of being digital.

The concept of a bullet journal was created by Ryder Carroll, a digital product designer and art director from Brooklyn, New York. He developed the system as a way to manage his own personal tasks and projects, and later shared it with the public through his website. He first introduced the concept of a bullet journal in 2013, through a series of YouTube videos and blog posts.

The journal is usually divided into different sections, such as a calendar, a task list, and a section for notes and ideas. The journal is then organized using a system of bullet points, symbols and short sentences to represent different types of information, such as tasks, events, or notes.

A bullet journal template can be beneficial for a wide range of people. Essentially, anyone who wants to stay organized and on top of their schedule can benefit from using a bullet journal template, including:

There are a lot of people who are hard-core serious about their bullet journals (or bujo) and some dedicate hours upon hours to their journals, hand-drawing lots of fancy dividers, headers, sketches and everything else you can imagine. People use fountain pens or other fancy writing instruments, do calligraphy or other elaborate writing, etc. I love that idea, but have no time or patience to do something like that.

A digital bullet journal allows me to create beautiful designs I can keep on my iPad pro or print them and use on my paper bullet journal. This blog post explains what is a digital bullet journal and how to use it. I also share a couple of spreads I have created through the years.

A digital bullet journal is an interactive notebook used on the iPad. The planner has links called hyperlinks. When you click on a link the planner takes you to a specific page on the planner. For example, look at the image below. The pink arrows point to the parts of the planner that are interactive. When you click on the one of the tabs or bullet point you are automatically taken to a specific page of the planner.

Some of my favorite features about digital planning in the iPad: the undo button, the ability to resize images, being able to change the color of my handwriting, and adding different fonts to my planner.

The image below shows the first two pages of my digital bullet journal in the GoodNotes app. On the left page, I love putting images that make me smile or that are pretty. On the right page you will find the index.

The image below was the first digital bullet journal spread I ever created. I love the way the spread turned out. It allowed me to explore how I wanted my designs to look digitally. The quote at the bottom right says:

These are the key shortcuts I use on my digital bullet journal. They help organize my ideas and thoughts. I try to keep the key to a minimum of five or six things to remember what each symbol represents easily.

I use my digital bullet journal each day to help me plan my to dos and keep track of my projects. I start the morning with a blank page on my iPad, a fresh start to the new day, and then take a few minutes to write things down.

Each year I create a new bullet journal in the GoodNotes app. I create a Notebook and then set the default page to dotted paper. GoodNotes provides a lot of digital papers that you can switch between depending on what you need for a given day.

Bullet journaling is about writing out your tasks by hand. This is a key component of the system. By handwriting, we are engaging our brain and acknowledging that the task is important enough to be written down.

Looking at my bullet journal again in the afternoon is really important. There are usually things that I wrote down in the morning that I have forgotten about. If I were to skip this step of afternoon reviewing, I might not get to those items at all.
