Subject: Law Firm Outreach to Boston University School of Law - LALSA
Good afternoon,
My name is Adrienne Brown, and I am in the Diversity and Inclusion
Department of Finnegan Henderson Farabow Garrett & Dunner, LLP, an
intellectual property law firm. We are interested in speaking with
law students with technical/scientific backgrounds from
underrepresented groups who are considering pursuing a career in
intellectual property. We believe building a direct relationship with
student organizations is a good way to achieve this goal. We need your
help. We would like to exchange ideas with you on how Finnegan can
specifically reach such students to provide information about our law
firm.
As you may be aware, many law firms have an underrepresentation of
minority, LGBT, women and specially-abled attorneys. At Finnegan, we
remain committed to rising above this trend. In this year’s Vault
survey, Finnegan ranks in the top 20 nationally in several categories,
including Diversity, Best Firm to Work For, Firm Culture,
Associate-Partner Relations, Offices, and Pro Bono. We are very proud
of these accomplishments, but we strive to do even better.
To that end, we look forward to hearing from you, and possibly working
with you this semester.
Best regards,
Adrienne

Subject: Fall 2011 Internship at the USDOL Solicitor's Office in Boston
Dear Ms. Price:
I am the intern and diversity coordinator at the US Department of
Labor, Office of the Solicitor here in Boston. I was referred to you
by Celeste Moran, a Boston University student who interned here as
part of our summer program last year.
I am checking-in with you to see if BU has any internship/externship
program during the Fall semester and if you are aware of students who
may be seeking an internship placement. We plan to have 3 interns here
in the fall semester and we currently have one remaining position
available. The intern position would require 16-20 hours of work, is
unpaid and either course credit or public interest funding must be
obtained. I would appreciate it if you would encourage any interested
students to apply.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like
to discuss this further.
Sincerely.
Christine Collins
