Job Description
WomensLaw.org, a program of the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), is located in Brooklyn, NY. WomensLaw.orgaims to provide easy-to-understand legal information and resources to women living with or escaping domestic violence and/or sexual assault. By reaching out through the Internet, we empower women and girls to lead independent and productive lives, free from abuse and assault.
Our website (http://www.womenslaw.org/) publishes state-specific legal information about domestic violence and sexual assault. We also provide help through email, directly to women and advocates, throughout the U.S.
Law student interns at WomensLaw.org have the unique opportunity to produce information and materials that will be viewed by thousands of survivors. Currently, over 70,000 different people visit our site per month; we also answer over 400 emails from survivors monthly.
We are seeking a Spanish-speaking law school intern for Summer 2011 to work full time, Mon-Fri, approximately 35 hours per week from our Brooklyn, NY office (in DUMBO).
The intern will conduct legal research and prepare and update plain-language legal information for publication on the WomensLaw.org website. Topic areas include:
The intern will also answer e-mails, in English and Spanish, from victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and assist our Latina Outreach Project Coordinator with community workshops and presentations.

Job Description
The summer is an exciting time to intern at the ACLU of Pennsylvania in one of our three offices (Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and Philadelphia). With more time to commit, interns are able to experience the daily activity at the ACLU of Pennsylvania.
Tasks undertaken by summer interns include, but are not limited to, legal research, drafting memos, and cite checking. Summer interns may also be asked to perform research regarding the civil liberties implications or impact of proposed or new legislation, or to assist with updating public education materials to reflect changes in the law. Legal interns attend court proceedings, sit in on case development meetings, and meet leaders in the public interest community.

Planned Parenthood affiliates operate more than 860 health centers nationwide, providing medical services and sexuality education for millions of women, men, and teenagers each year. We also work with allies worldwide to ensure that all women and men have the right and the means to meet their sexual and reproductive health care needs.
PPFA’s International Program has an opening for an Advocacy Program Officer for Latin America and the Caribbean, based in Miami, Florida.
SUMMARY: Based on PPFA’s mission and goals, the Advocacy Program Officer facilitates the development, implementation, and long-term viability of PPFA’s international sexual and reproductive health and rights advocacy projects and the improvement, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of advocacy partners in Latin America and the Caribbean.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Provide overall program monitoring/evaluation with participation of partner agencies
*Provide technical assistance to develop and plan strategies specific to each project for ongoing improvements that advance sexual and reproductive rights
*Prepare reports, including donor reports and proposals
*Write articles for publication
*Collaborate with central office and other regional staff to develop new concepts, evaluate ongoing efforts, and integrate efforts into work of PPFA
*Liaise with sister organizations to leverage impact of partners and PPFA
*Support the work of the regional office
REQUIREMENTS:
Law degree or other advanced degree in policy, international development or related field required. 3-5 years experience in advocacy- or policy-related activities, project planning, designing, monitoring and evaluation, preferably with a reproductive health/rights focus. Minimum of 2-year work experience in Latin America.
SKILLS:
Must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team, analyze and synthesize information to generate persuasive and clear verbal and written communications; possess strong time management skills and able to multitask and meet deadlines with a keen attention to detail and follow through.
This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish (fluent) with the ability to represent PPFA in a culturally competent manner. Must demonstrate good interpersonal and negotiation skills, in addition to ability to work autonomously, using good decision making and computer skills.
Knowledge of reproductive health issues, specifically in developing countries, is required. Knowledge of diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation to cultural differences is essential.
Must be able to travel a minimum of 35% of time.
