Fw: Just a Reminder about the OAU Mosque Project

Assalamu alaikum,

I received a note from a close friend reminding me of a presentation made about the OAU Masjid a few years back. I quickly searched my mail, went through the presentation, and was literally in tears. It brought back lots of memories and I believe it will evoke your emotions too. Please take a moment to view the attached PowerPoint presentation before reading on....

I hope you got the feeling I got viewing the presentation. A building was truly missing! Alhamdulillah, with the help of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'alaa), and also with the support of many people like you, we have come a very long way. Now, we are talking about finishing the Masjid! The annual fundraising has helped a lot. 

But this year, we're still a little far from our goal of raising N40 Million to establish Jumuah prayers inside the new masjid. As of today, we are at N14,751,908 leaving a gap of over N25 Million. But contributions so far have been from only 72 brothers and sisters and 5 UNIFEMGA Chapters. We know there are thousands of OAU Muslim graduates who Allah has blessed one way or another. Are you one of them? Has Allah blessed you in any way, no matter how little? Have you contributed to the OAU Masjid project this year? Other than OAU graduates, are you a Muslim that believes the saying of the Prophet (salallahu alaihi wasalaam): “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in Paradise.” [Sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim] ? Then you need to do something. And what a better time than the last ten days of Ramadan! 

Please don't close this mail without a firm resolve to do something. Don't let Shaitan give you any excuse. Don't think that someone else will do it - just play your part. Alhamdulillah, we are really close now. You can see the progress at http://oauifemasjid.org/gallery. Let us together fill the void on OAU campus. Let us complete the missing building! Let us do sadaqatul jaariyah (perpetual charity) for the thousands of people that will still pass through OAU campus in years to come, inshaAllah. May Allah accept it from us all, reward us abundantly in this world and build lofty houses for us in Jannah.
