It's only 24 hours to this year's Ramadan online fundraiser for the OAU Masjid! This is a unique opportunity to earn multiplied rewards from Allah while helping to build a House of Allah on the beautiful OAU campus.

N40 Million in 40 days for OAU Masjid Project

What?

Online fundraiser to raise 40 million Naira (about $250,000 USD) in 40 days for the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife, Nigeria Masjid under construction. We are all used to fundraisers that take place in a specific location at a specific date and time. Here, we keep the location flexible to allow convenient participation from all over the world, but fix the date and time. The 40 days start from 1st of Ramadan to 10th Shawwal, but the main fundraising event is on Saturday July 20, 2013 at 3pm Nigerian time.
Prof. Is-Haq Oloyede, Secretary-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs is the keynote speaker. Other speakers include Prof. M. A. Rahman, Dr. (Mrs.) Lateefat Durosinmi, Dr. Abubakr Sanusi, Prof. Wahab Egbewole and Imam Mikail Akinyode.

Why?
|
Construction of the OAU Central Mosque has been ongoing for over 25 years. From the funds raised last year, contract for tiling the entire masjid has been awarded at over N22 Million. Metal gates have been fixed. A number of electrical and plumbing work are also completed. We now need to complete the painting, minarets, external staircases, mechanical and other electrical works, all estimated at about N40 Million.

Main fundraiser is on Saturday 20 July 2013 (12th Ramadhan 1434 AH) at 3.00pm Nigerian time (10am New York time).
