Hello,

I am a fourth year student at IIT Delhi, pursuing Maths & Computing.

I have good coding experience in languages like Java, C/C++, MySQL, HTML. I have dabbled with PHP, Javascript, C# at various times for different topics in software like Eclipse, Visual Studio, OpenGL, MATLAB. I'm a learning Android & Windows App Developer and web developer.

I'm highly interested in the Data sensor app. We could use features of magnetic field sensor, acceleration sensor, rotation vector sensor, etc to possibly locate our route on a map without using the GPS system.

I also have an idea to work on an Android app to create a mobile tracker for a group to meet at a place. Here, all people would be able to see each other on the same map. We would apply Shortest-Distance algorithms for all - on the server - to reach destination(which could be altered by group admin using touch features). The advantage is that when groups have to meet - various members do not know the destination, or the online map may not be good enough. With this, we can keep a tab on where others have reached. Thus expenses on calling and messaging - to get location updates - are reduced. I hope to incorporate a whatsapp-like messaging tool "on-the-side", in the long run.

Given how late I am in asking, kindly guide me, about the feasibility of my application at this time.

Waiting for your earliest response.

Thankyou,
Shivam

Thanks for your interest in the sensor application. You can still try to come up with a good proposal and submit it to melange. Browse through other related discussions in the group to get a better idea of the application, ask any specific questions that you may have here.

Good, however it does not fall within our focus area i.e. education mobile application. So this wouldn't be acceptable as a part of GSoC for our organization.
