Hi,
My name is Mayank Chaudhari and I am a student of Computer engineering  3rd year. I have some prior knowledge of android development and I want to put forward my ideas to build a mobile application to collect the data from various sensors present in the device and display it in a user friendly  way.I want to incorporate the following points in my app.

  • A user interface to select desired sensor data. (this is done so that only requested sensor will be turned on to save power)
  • A single page dedicated page representing the data  obtained by the sensor in both numerical and graphical pattern
  • In addition to the data from the sensors a page displaying working of the sensors to in order to tell the user what actually is going behind the screen.
I want to work on the following sensor data
  • Accelerometer and gravity sensor - The data provided by these sensors can be used to detect the movement of the device and I also want the data obtained from these sensors to play some role in seismic detection .
  • Sound sensor - The sensor data can be represented in the form of a graph with some numerical values indicating common user environment ex. room ,city and the user can also compare between the present and these pre-set values
  • Light sensor - The sensor data can be represented by bubbles of various light intensity.
  • Magnetic sensor -The data can be depicted with the help of a compass which in turn will also help the user in finding his direction.
  •  Temperature sensor - The data can be depicted with the bar graph with different colors for different temperature ranges and numerical values.
  • Humidity sensor - In order to make it more informative I want to use this data  and data from some other sensors also.
In order to save energy consumption I want to provide functionality to on and off the application so that it can be used only when it is required.

Thanks for your introduction Mayank. You seem to have understood the application idea. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Also, please do not delay submitting your proposals to melange since the deadline is 21st March.

Hi sir,
I want to know that do I have to submit any piece of code before the selection of my proposal ?
