Hello,
This is Dhiwakar pursuing 3rd year of Bachelor of Technology from NIT, Trichy, India. I am really excited about taking part in GSOC 2014!

i am eagerly looking forward to contribute for BuildmLearn!

I am ready to work on your projects listed under Mobile Application Development ideas.
Apart from them, I have a couple of ideas from my own side!

1. Math App:
This can be really helpful for students pursuing math/engineering. It will include algorithms to solve problems/equations/building equations for data sets by various numerical techniques like Regression, Newton Raphson method, etc.
It will also show the user step wise solution to the problem so that the user learns what is happening in a specific algorithm.

2. Pronunciation tutorial:
This will a very simple app to teach pronunciation for kids for various languages! It will be a very simple and fun app! It will use the recognizer intent of android to process the speech input given by the user. If the word spoken by the user matches with some result, it will be displayed on the screen and asked if the user meant that word. If yes, the user gets positive points, if no, the user will get negative points! This is a very vague idea. If you are interested in this, I can come up with good ideas to make this app fun and better.

To put things straight, this is my skill set.

Languages              :    C, C++, Java (for Android), PHP, JavaScript, CSS, MySQL, HTML.
Packages               :   Eclipse IDE, Android SDK, Xcode, Aptana Studio 3, Git.
Frameworks            :   CodeIgniter.
Cloud Platforms       :   Google Cloud Messaging, Amazon Web Services (SNS, SQS and DynamoDB).

This is the list of my projects pertaining to mobile development.

Internship at Optmyzr, Inc.                                                                                      ( Dec’13 - Jan’14 )
Internship Location:  Optmyzr India Development Centre, Hyderabad.
Successfully designed and developed a distributed notification system for Optmyzr, Inc. with a mobile front and backend hosted in the cloud.
Used Android SDK to develop a mobile application which will be used by the clients of Optmyzr to log into Optmyzr server and receive push messages from cloud.
Used Amazon Web Services SDK for PHP with CodeIgniter framework to manage private and public notification data in the cloud. AWS Simple Notification Service (SNS) was used to publish notifications. Amazon DynamoDB (NoSQL cloud Database) was used to store device and notification data.
Used Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) for Android to push notifications to targeted mobile devices.

Vehicle Accident Response System                                                                           ( Feb-Mar 2013 )
Developed an Android application which is a core part of the Accident Response System. The Android application (connected to an embedded system which detects the accident) helps to accelerate the reach of medical aid to the victims of accident. This is achieved by sending an alert message to emergency services containing details such as time, accident’s Geo location and address.
Used Google Maps API for traffic data and location.
Designed and implemented a Bluetooth Byte Stream Interface for connectivity with the embedded system.
Used GSM for messaging/alert.
Complete specification for Patent has been filed in the Indian Patent Office for this product.
The code is hosted on github.com/JustDNA/CARS

Mobile Voice Remote for Electronic Wheelchair Prototype                                     ( January 2013 )
Developed an assistive technology using Android SDK. The application enables physically challenged to give voice commands to control their wheelchair
Used Recognizer Intent of Android to process the voice commands given by the user.
Used Bluetooth Byte Stream Interface for connectivity with the embedded system.
The code is hosted on github.com/JustDNA/Voice_Remote

        My other projects include:
(Codes of all projects are hosted on  github.com/JustDNA )

> Powerpoint remote controller for windows PC

> A stopowatch

> A timetable app (SQLite)

> A weather update app

Hi Dhiwakar,

Thanks for the extensive introduction :-) It's great to see you interested in mobile apps. You should select one or two applications that interest you the most and submit proposals for them. More details here: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/buildmlearn/droaQTxy7aU/L1aQ_aJYxSUJ
