Hi, everyone. I guess, I am not too late…
I’m Srujan Jha, a second yearite in Birla Institute of Technology and Science-Pilani, Hyderabad Campus (BITS-Pilani), pursuing a five year course on M.Sc. in Biological Science and B.E. (Hons.)/B.Tech in Computer Science. I am really good at C#/XAML, Java, C, C++ and have some knowledge on PHP, HTML also.
I have almost 2 years of experience in App development on Windows 8.x/Windows Phone platform and few months of experience on Android too.  I have 3 windows 8 apps and around 15+ windows phone apps in Windows Marketplace. I am also an active user on various other programs of app development like NOKIA-DVLUP and App Builder’s Club.
I really like the ideas of Build-m-learn, and would like to work with you for my forth-coming years of engineering on building apps on education.
My idea of Tell-The-Time application would mostly revolve around the proposed idea with some changes: Tutorials, quizzes, user involvement and the most important part for an app (for children) would be its simplest engaging UI.

Hi Srujan

Thanks for your brief introduction. I checked your apps, you are having a lot of experience with WP development. :-)

Do you have any specific questions regarding "Tell the Time" application? If not, please start working on a draft proposal according to given guidelines here: https://github.com/BuildmLearn/BuildmLearn-Toolkit/wiki/Guidance-for-Students

Thanks, for your reply.. :-)
I have some great ideas regarding the "Tell-the-time" app, which I will include in my proposal.
Can I apply for more than one ideas  under "Mobile Development Application" of BuildmLearn for GSoc?
Although it is very clear, just wanted to ask Windows 8 desktop apps are not included under this category. Right ?

Yes you can. One idea per proposal.

That's right, we are focussing on educational 'mobile' apps this summer.

Thanks Pankaj,
One more question:
Is the organisation looking at all platforms equally (or are some platforms are favoured over others)?
As, I will be able to make android apps also, however, I am best at the Windows Phone platform.
Am I on the equal stand with all other developers who develop for other platforms like android, IOS, etc.

Our long term aim would be to get the application out on all popular mobile platforms. These are mentioned on the Ideas page:  Android, Windows Phone, iPhone, Nokia Asha (J2ME) or HTML5 web platform. That being said, for this year’s GSoC we are open to proposals on either of the above platform/s.

I don't quite understand the question, but if we do have developers working on the same app as you on a different platform, you will definitely be in touch with them.

Yes, it is recommended that you include images, wire frames or alternatively a brief description of the design.
