Hello all,
My name is Vaishal Shah. I am pursuing Electronics&Instrumentation engineering at BITS-Pilani,India. I have been developing android apps for last one year. I am very excited to contribute to BuildmLearn this year for sensors data app. I have made framework for main screen attached with this mail. I would like to take your suggestions regarding improving it. Also, one of my apps is on play store.
Here is the link:BITS-Board android app
Thank you.

Thanks for you interest Vishal. It would be best if you share wireframes including all the screens of the application and not just a list view. We are more interested to see what kind of visualizations would you use to present the recorded / live sensor data.

Thank you for reply.
I have designed wire-frames for some of the screens which are attached. Also, on homescreen instead of listview, I would like to add cardview which will make design more interesting. Currently I am working on making sample demos which can implement these designs. I also have made one demo of androplot charts using live accelerometer data. I have attached screenshots of that also.
Any type of suggestion is highly welcome.
And one more thing, It's "Vaishal", not vishal. :)
Thanks.

Hi Vaishal,

Couple of suggestions:
- Try to get all screens in one image. This would clarify the navigation. Here is an example: http://www.rohitwalia.com/main/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Director_Wireframe-01.jpg
- Avoid using colours in wireframes. If you want to use colours, avoid using gaudy colours.
- What UI guidelines have you followed? We would prefer you follow Android UI guidelines when designing your application. This would mean standard action bar, material design and native look and feel for the application and not like a game UI.

I am working on making sample demos which can implement these designs. I also have made one demo of androplot charts using live accelerometer data. I have attached screenshots of that also.

You may want to spend more time on the wireframes. Demo / Sample apps may not be required if your wireframes are extra ordinary.

Thanks for suggestions.
I have removed all other color effects now and tried to make new design. I just wanted to confirm that am I going on the right way or should I consider some other things also ?

Much better. However, this can't be the complete wireframe. You really need to decide what visualizations would you use for each of the sensors and add those screens in the wireframes.

I decided some of the visualizations for this app but i haven't applied them to a real device so i have just added images of that kind so that idea will be clear. This images just shows the idea behind the visualization of that sensor and can be much better at the time of actual app making. Please give your reviews about this wireframe.

Thanks,

The wireframes need a lot of work. Frankly, what you just posted is not what we are looking for. We are looking for some creative visualizations (far from conventional ones i.e. 2D graphs and values) for this projects. Could you give it another shot?

Also, I would suggest you using a better wireframing tool rather than preparing mockups out of graphics found on web. This would certainly improve your presentation.

Can you suggest any better wireframing tool because i have used 3-4 and none of them were good enough.

I have tried ninjamock this time and hope you find it better than previous. Please give your review.

The wireframes do look better than your last effort. However, I still have the same comments as Rahul has - you need to come up with more creative visualizations than a bar chart.
