Hi,

I am a 4th yr undergraduate student pursuing my BTech in CSE at IIIT Hyderbad, India.

I am interested in applying for BuildmLearn in Gsoc 2014. I had gone through this year's idea page and interested in applying for 'Translation Tools' project.

I am good at python, C/C++ and done a lot of projects in these languages. Some of them are like:
Wikipedia Search Engine : The objective of this project is to design a scalable and efficient search engine using the Wikipedia data.
Building a Virtualization Orchestration Layer: Build a fabric that can coordinate the provisioning of compute resources by negotiating with
a set of Hypervisors running across physical servers in the datacenter.

I am also familiar with both Linux/windows, and had done a lot of work in both.

About this project:
I think this project is pretty straight forward. We have to design a  tool in which a CSV/excel file from the user through UI and in the backend a python script will talk with Rest API like google/bing translate, convert that file to desired language and finally return to the user as a CSV/excel file.

Can you please give me some guidance, what should be my next step?

Thanks,
Anurag Soni,
BTech CSE,
IIIT Hyderabad.

It seems you've understood the idea well. There have been many discussions about this project in the group already, you could go through them or ask other questions. If not you can start writing a proposal.
