Message notifications on Buildium

I decided to give SMS Messaging a try, through Buildium.  A good number of my tenants have already given the authorization, which is nice.  I had several important contacts to make this week, so I used SMS instead of emailing.  Some of the tenants needed to give approval, and they did, so I was able to get my communication done pretty quick.  

What's the problem, you ask?  If I'm not sitting at my PC and looking at the Buildium web page in the upper left corner, I have no idea that any message has been received.  Is that the best notification we can get?  Is it possible to link these notifications to the "new" Buildium app, as well?

It would be great if we could get the Buildium SMSer to FWD those SMSes to our office issue cell phones.

Perhaps this is another example of why having an Open API would be reeeeally helpful, since I know that RingCentral can be linked and SMS messaging done that way.

I just switched from AppFolio to Buildium.  But this texting features was one of my favorites with AF.  While AF didn't have an app, every time I got a text through the system, it would email me a copy of the text.  Then I could just click a link in the email to respond to it.  It was really nice...and you could print them off in case you ever needed them (court, etc.).
