Jane I am always hard up for cash, and if there is a way to get some, then by all means lets do so.  I have media persons who I can contact, but I would rather you are anyone receiving this to use their own people.  I have never made a request of this nature, so again this is an area where I have to depend on others.

So this is what I want if you are receiving this from me, contact Jane directly and see what it is you may be able to help us accomplish.  All I have to offer is the flier for the conference which is attached, but you may see or suggest something else.  We need to do this today, if at all possible.  From what I am seeing, they may do this for more than one publication.

Jane, I hope this works, and all of you keep me in the loop.  If you will go to the website, we just added a tour to our schedule of workshops (see bottom/right of Home page).  A tour of recently built Energy Efficiency homes in a low-to-moderate-income community.  I took the tour last week, and it was fantastic.

Keep it up gang.

How ironic it is that the free Health clinic in downtown Kansas City, Missouri is receiving national media attention on MSNBC, and we have scheduled a free health screening at our conference in January.  We are in tune with the needs of our citizenry.  People are hurting for Health Care.  Maybe now we might be able to get some local media attention too.

I still have two more workshops to add.  This is going to be a Great Environmental conference.  Many went to Copenhagen to watch others do whatever, while in January we will be educating each other, right here at home for a $1.00 per day.

Peace Gang!

Dear Richard,

Thanks so much for the e-mail below!

The Hiroshima Peace Culture Foundation may be able to send us some funds AFTER THE FACT for promoting the conference in local newspapers. What we found from earlier work with them is that, for each newspaper, we need to give the name of a newspaper, the cost of printing ad(s) in it, and
then turn in to Hiroshima Peace Culture Foundation the receipts for the newspaper ads.

The ad would need to feature the Web conference and posters (30 large posters re Hiroshima/Nagasaki) and can mention other conference highlights, but definitely emphasize the Web conference and posters. Do you have a designer who could pull off one ad for several publications? Do you want to take time for this? If you have a guess on publication costs, I could submit that in the application I'm sending Hiroshima ... if you can get it to me quickly.

Also, after we send Hiroshima our receipts, we get a check for Japanese money, and we had to pay $40 for converting the check to U.S. money ... and we needed to give bank account info, etc.

All of this may not be worth bothering with!

Just asking in case you're super hard up for $ and want to try this route.

Cordially, Jane
