Lori, please excuse me for saying that I love ya! This was probably one of the best support videos for what I do that I have ever seen. I am going to do whatever I can to see that the people I email to, begging to be heard, get a copy of this video whether they listen to it or not.
I was in a meeting this past Friday with a group made up of 2 of us from KCK, and 2 associates from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As you will see from the attached photo, we are the ultimate multicultural group of environmental minded intellectuals. The White guy is a health equity expert, the Black female is a professor at Peen State, and a transplant from both an African and European education, then we have my KCK co-heart whose family migrated from India to the United States before he was born, and then yours truly, the Kansas born, bred, and learned Black American, with real-life Kansas integration experience.
While discussing our individual opinions regarding racial disparities, on the planet. I told the group how I actually transferred from a Kansas City, Kansas all-Black elementary school to integrate an all-white elementary school's 5th-grade classroom in 1956. And here we are in 2020 (64 years later) still trying to get it right.
We as a nation of people just bury John Lewis, a man, who in 1965 was beaten almost to death by White police officers, on what has been named "Bloody Sunday", yet the day he dies, protesters were marching in the streets for the death of another Black person (George Floyd) at the hands of a White police officer (55 years later).
Yet in America, I find myself alone fighting for the right to be heard by the people who count in America, saying exactly what this guy you sent me in the video is saying, and guess what, no one seems to care. Well, I will say none seem to care, because you sending me this, showed that you do. God says we are supposed to love one another, and that is why I begin this response with an "I love you" for speaking up.
So to those of you receiving this, if at all possible, take the time to hear what this man is saying. And then asked yourself, on a scale of 1 -10, where do you fit, in regards to what he is saying is not being done.
That goes for the Black persons receiving this too. Where do you fit? We are begging people to Vote! I say, vote for what or better yet, who? I don't even hear any politicians talking about the lack of Black leadership.
We as a race should make this video our October Surprise!
My final word, Please get your knee off our necks!
