 The Last KC Forest June 25, 2018 | 6:00 pm On EcoRadio KC The Line Creek Forest, some of the last remaining original woodland forest within Kansas City in Platte County, is under siege from development. This is 800 acres of forest that surrounds the Line Creek Trail, and offers its citizens a quiet place to run, walk, bike and spend time. Beginning in 2018, part of the forest will be eliminated for three schools, parking lots and sports fields, and Kansas City’s long-term plan is to replace the rest of the forest with a parkway, retail shops and more housing developments.
