Every concept presented in this method is reinforced by numerous pages of playing material and just the right amount of music theory, providing a solid foundation for the student guitarist. Includes access to online audio and video.

Mel Bay's Modern Guitar Method, Grade 1 is an essential guide using the world's most popular guitar method. This edition has been created specifically for left-handed guitar players, and all examples and images are based on left-handed players.

Grade 2 explores more complex rhythms in carefully graded solo and duet settings with parallel lessons in music theory- just enough to keep students up to speed in terms of what they are expected to play. The book begins with a review of playing in the key of C major but soon goes to F major/D minor followed by D major/B minor. Written in standard notation only.

Modern Guitar Method Grade 2 features a tremendous amount of playing material for the guitar student. Includes access to online audio that is recorded in split-track format featuring the guitars of Tommy Flint and William Bay. Recorded with the solo parts on the right channel and the accompaniment parts on the left. The guitar student may play with melody, accompaniment, or both!

A carefully graded series of exercises, solos, duets, and chord studies which are an ideal supplement to the Mel Bay Modern Guitar Method Grade 1 and to the note-reading section of Mel Bay's Guitar Class Method.

Studies are included for each string, and the keys of C, A minor, G, and E minor are presented. Guitar Studies Grade 1, in addition, will be a valuable aid to any beginning guitar student and the content will augment and enhance learning regardless of the basic instructional text being used. In notation only.
