Hi,

I am using Kiva Data for my research and had a question regarding the variable -  'Repayment Interval'. There are 3 categories of repayment intervals in the dataset - Bullet, Irregular and Monthly.

I am not clear on the exact definitions of these categories especially - what do 'Bullet' and 'Irregular' repayment intervals mean? Can you please let me know the definitions for these?

Many thanks!
Devanshi

Hello Devanshi!

Thanks for your interest in working with Kiva data!
Bullet generally means the bulk of the repayment is due nearer to the end term date. It would be analogous to a ballon payment for mortgages in the United States.
Irregular repayments are generally repayments due along harvest or market cycles that do not align neatly with calendar-based time periods.

Hope this helps!
