Hi all,


So I spoke with our consultant for strategic planning, Ann Quinn. The engagement letter with the details of what she will provide is attached. Essentially, her plan is:


1. Meet with the strategic planning committee (me, Ed, Anne, Tom, and Sarah) some time in May to define the issues that we would like to have addressed at the Board retreat in June. 


2. Half day Board retreat in June to define the mission and a 3-5 year vision. The retreat would therefore focus on the big picture of who we are as an organization and not the day-to-day operations.


3. Three follow up sessions in July and August to discuss (1) Staffing needs, (2) volunteers, and (3) fundraising. People would self select into these groups based on interest and we might invite additional people to be involved (ie members come to the volunteers meeting and funders come to the fundraising meeting). Bring recommendations to full Board.


Any thoughts or concerns about the overall process or anything major that we left out?


As far as dates, for the strategic planning committee, she can do 6-8 pm on May 22, May 25 or June 1. Please let me know what dates work for you. For the Board retreat, she would prefer a meeting during the weekday, which I know may be hard for some. Possible dates are June 15, 16, 22, or 23rd. Please let me know what day and what times work for you-we can use Skype for any of the meetings as necessary.

One reason to follow through with this is to get a strategic plan document which will help in approaching potential donors.  It will give us a more evolved professional stance with them.

Just a thought.
