Hello,
I know the use of the Commons is new to many of you (heck, I am really a newbie myself), and with our recent move of BUGMI from Google Groups (BUGMI Posts) to BUGMI in the Commons (I am calling this "BUGMI Commons" for short), I realized that it is possible that many may not understand when a BUGMI peer is reaching our for help via BUGMI Commons verses how it used to show up in your email via BUGMI Posts. In this email, I am going to try and clarify this for you so that we can continue to retain our outstanding level of engagement across BUGMI now that we are moving to the Commons.
Message from BUGMI Posts would come from:
bu...@googlegroups.com on behalf of ...
Example: bu...@googlegroups.com on behalf of Randall S Jobski <job...@lcc.edu>
And have a Subject that started with [BUGMI Post:]:
Example: [BUGMI Post:] Action Required: Moving BUGMI to The Commons
To reply to a BUGMI Post, all you had to do was hit the Reply button in email, type your message, and send it.
Message from BUGMI Commons would come from:
And have a Subject that is copied from the title of the post in BUGMI Commons
Real Examples (see below): 834 EDI transmission, School of Nursing Software, A/R Reporting, or Report for Banner Access
To reply to a BUGMI Commons post in email, all you have to do is look for the following statement near the end of the BUGMI Commons email, hit the reply link provided, enter your reply, and then send your email. It will post your reply in the BUGMI Commons and attach it to the original post. In addition, anyone who is "watching" the BUGMI Commons will also see your reply by receiving an email (as well as it will now be visible within the BUGMI Commons for those who log in and review the posts there).
"To comment on this article via email click on the link Reply"
That's all there is to it!! I hope this helps you understand how to join in on the conversation from posts that originate in the BUGMI Commons. We need YOU to participate to keep the BUGMI community alive!
Please let me know if you have any questions on any of this. I would be more than happy to assist.
As mentioned, there are 4 BUGMI Commons posts sitting out there still waiting for a reply. I have copied a picture of each of them below. If it appears you have anything to share on any of these topics, please log into the BUGMI Commons, and post your reply there (or you can find the original emails in your emial inbox or deleted folder, and reply as noted above).
Thank you!
