Thanks Eileen for the question below. In answer, I am going to provide an update on many items to the entire group.
The BUGMI Conference Committee has been steadily making progress on our upcoming conference. I wanted to provide this update to bring you all up to speed on where we stand.
1. So far we have 99 people signed up via our Doodle indicating they are planning on attending the conference!! I was hoping this would reach 100 prior to me sending this update, but oh well. J Plus, we really want to get the actual number attending up to at least 150 - 200!!
2. You can see ALL past and upcoming BUGMI Conference materials on our website at www.bugmi.org under the “Resources” tab.
a. Direct link to the 2012 folder is here. This includes:
i. BoF Session Planning docs (will contain topics to be discussed)
ii. Presentation Session Planning docs
iii. LCC West Campus Conference Services contract info docs
iv. Conference Analysis spreadsheet
v. Conference Committee planning meeting notes doc
vi. Conference Program doc
vii. 1-Page Conference Agenda doc
b. Note: Most of these documents are still works in progress, but you are welcome to check them any time you want / need to do so.
3. We had a setback in getting a registration site up and running. We are hoping to have something in place within the next week or so. Assuming we get this site up as expected, our strong preference will be that one pays for the conference with a credit card.
4. The BoF facilitators are starting to put out calls for topics. Please respond and provide your input – as this is YOUR conference. By providing your input, you ensure this conference is valuable to YOU.
5. We are finalizing a lodging document to provide suggested places to stay overnight, if that is necessary for you. There will not be any blocks of rooms reserved at any hotel for this conference.
6. We are still in need of 1 – 2 presentation topics. If you have been considering throwing your name/topic in the hat, please pull the trigger and let me know. We have to finalize this ASAP.
7. We are still hoping / expecting that Ellucian will provide 1 – 2 speakers at our conference – and they are also checking into providing access to other Ellucian employees during our BoF sessions via the phone. I hope to hear confirmation on this by the end of the week.
The BUGMI Conference Committee is working hard to ensure you have a wonderful conference to attend. Please continue to spread the word about the conference, make sure you put the date on your calendar, provide your suggested topics to your BoF facilitator, and finally, please be patient as we pull this all together for all of us to enjoy.
As always, if there are any questions on any of this, please feel free to reach out to any of the BUGMI Key Contacts (found on the bugmi.org website).
Thank you,

Subject: Where to sign up for BUGMI conference
Hi Randy,
I'm not seeing a link to sign up for the BUGMI conference other than adding my name to the Doodle Group. Can you send me the link with information for signing up and paying?
Thanks.
